Monica Bellucci Stuns in Corset in Spectre

When it became obvious Monica Bellucci would star in the 2015 James Bond movie Spectre fans were delighted. Hot on the heels of the success of Skyfall it seemed the franchise was adressing a past mistake. You see Monica Bellucci was originally cast for the movie Tomorrow Never Dies released in 1997, she was to play Paris Carter, a role that eventually went to Teri Hatcher. Now I believe Hatcher did a good job, but you get a sense that a more European and Italian actress could have played up the femme-fatale aspects of that role.

Forward 18 years to 2015 and Monical Bellucci finally stars in James Bond, next to Daniel Craig. Every who has seen the movie agrees the role is small, just a few minutes but Monica does stun as the widow of assassin Sciarra. As her husband is dead the organization he used to work, Spectre, now wants her dead as well, despite her ability to remain silent for so many years. James of course saves Lucia from the assassins who are casually awaiting her at her home before he decides to make love to her.

That of course takes us to the reason why we are here, after GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies it is the third and last great lingerie scene in James Bond. This time the Bond-girl is wearing a corset with stockings, it doesn’t get much better than that. Probably also not very logical for a woman to be wearing such an ensemble to a funeral but I guess the movie creators wanted to imbue the movie with a sexiness, lingerie-addict, femme-fatale feel for the character.
