Rooney Mara Nude in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is one of my favorite movies, basically its a locked-room murder mystery that also involves hacking. It is based on the novel by the same title by Swedish author Stieg Larsson, part of his Millennium series. David Fincher’s 2011 adaptation starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara makes a few mistakes here and there but overall the movie is one that I semi-regularly watch. Fincher does not hold back any punches, the movie is violent, the characters are pushy and the women sexy. I am referring here to Robin Wright and Rooney Mara with the former wearing a skirt and boots throughout. Rooney Mara plays Lisbeth Salander, the multi-talented hacker who is queer & somewhat autistic. For the most part she wears boyish Goth-inspired clothing, but when she does take them off or dons a pencil skirt with high heels it becomes very much worth it.

The first scene I want to discuss is also the best. It is true we see some nudity before but as it has to do with rape it is not my favorite. Here we see love making between Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig after the latter’s character is grazed by a bullet. As is typical we see more of her than him, for a brief moment we even get a hint of bush of Rooney Mara. Though I also think in later screenshots she is wearing a cover on her crotch. While certainly not ample Rooney Mara’s bosom is certainly a wonder to behold, though her sister has the edge in cup-size.

The second series of images relates to the epilogue of the movie. Lisbeth with the fake identity of Irene Nesser hacks into the back account of the secondary antagonist and steals around two billion dollars. She launders this through the use of bonds in Switzerland. Rooney is here a blonde using a wig and dresses in a very feminine way. It is in keeping with the novel in which she also applies bra inserts, which she keeps after her a little mission is over. The scene does not reveal anything we have not seen before but it is unusual in the way we see her donning her disguise, she is not just becoming Irene Nesser but also a woman and the way our culture sees them.

Fans of the Millennium series will be delighted to know there is a series in the works at Amazon, though do I not expect it to arrive in 2025.
